Total Weight Gain: 4 pounds for me... 4 ounces for the baby!
Cravings: I'm craving something... delicious. I haven't figured out what that is exactly. But, I've spent lots of time standing in front of the refrigerator looking for it!
Movement: Definitely feeling kicks! After eating or when I sit down, I almost always feel the baby kicking. The best part is that Brendon can feel them too! They are still small and haven't started attacking my ribs, but that's coming soon, I'm sure.
Sleep: Brendon's let me sleep in almost every morning since he came home. I'm so thankful for those few extra minutes!
Best Moment of the Week: Our Valentine's day ultrasound! Brendon and I usually don't do big gifts for Valentine's day. {We usually aren't even in the same country on Valentine's day} But, this year was the exception. He got home from a TDY in the morning and that afternoon we went to Sneak Peek Ultrasound to see the baby! It was so much fun and completely different than my experiences at the hospital. The chair for me was more like a recliner, the belly goo was warm, and the baby was up on 2 huge screens. Owen went with us and was interested for about the first 3 minutes. He said "hi" to the baby, listened to the heartbeat and then asked to go to the bookstore! Brendon and I enjoyed watching the baby for the other 22 minutes, while Owen played Legos and watched a Thomas the Train video on my iphone.
We really wanted to find out if the baby was a boy or girl.
Brendon guessed girl.
I guessed boy.
Owen guessed it was a baby (Smart kid!)
The ultrasound technician showed us the baby, played the heartbeat, and we could even see and hear the baby's hiccups! Before she had time to tell us, Brendon said "It's a boy!" He was right and our little boy spent the rest of the time showing us that he is definitely a boy. He's also a wiggle worm that likes to stretch his legs and tries to get his hand to his mouth.
Here are a few pictures of our sweet little one...
To share our news with everyone else, we took pictures of Owen with blue balloons.
He enjoyed the balloons much more than the ultrasound!
I made a shirt for Owen to wear in the pictures, but he didn't feel like modeling it. Instead, he wanted to take pictures with his trains.
To make the week even better, we got to spend the long weekend with Jessica, David, and Bryce! The girls went shopping at JoAnn's and bought supplies to make these Please Knock Baby Sleeping signs. We also planned our April trip to DisneyLand! Finding a hotel was stressful, but {magically} the hotel we wanted and the room we needed became available, right before we gave up hope! I can't wait --- I've been to Disney World more times than I could even begin to count, but this will be my first trip to DisneyLand.
Owen's favorite part of the weekend was the trip to Red Rock Canyon. I really wasn't sure that he'd like all the walking, but he had so much fun exploring! We were surprised that the "easy" trails were still very rocky and the number of cars on the scenic drive shocked me. We finally found a quiet little picnic spot and had lunch. The boys went exploring, picking up sticks, and Owen was brave enough to go everywhere that Daddy went. I only ended up with one picture of the entire trip, but you can see how much fun Owen is having!
And, last but not least.... My Mardi Gras Bead Wreath is famous, again! The article that I was asked about months ago was finally printed in Woman's World Magazine. It's a segment called "Borrowed from the Blogs" and they featured my wreath tutorial.
So cool that they featured you in their magazine! Bet your blog got a lot of hits after that!
