Baby Bouquet

The past month, I've been working on a super-secret-baby shower for Jessica (which is why there haven't been many posts) and you'll have to wait until October 22nd before you see all the projects I've been making. My lips are sealed!  A month of crafting without being able to blog has been so hard!  But, I am so excited to be able to share a baby bouquet that Susan and I made for our friend's baby shower this weekend.   Susan and I love working together to make baby shower presents (like our diaper cake) because it's fun to go shopping together, be crafty, and give a gift that is beautiful!

Here's our baby bouquet....

Want a closer look?
Everyone at the shower did and I'll say we were quite proud when the ladies passed our bouquet around to take a closer look!

Pretty from the side...

Pretty from the back...

Pretty from the other side...

Even pretty from the top....

Do you want to make one?

We rolled 4 onesies, 6 washcloths, 4 burp cloths, 2 caps, and 2 sets of baby scratch mittens.  This made a large bouquet, but a smaller gift would be equally beautiful.   To create the roses, you fold each item in half and roll them up.  The onesies were the hardest so I took a few pictures to show you how we did it.

1st Fold in the sleeves.

2nd Fold the onesie in half and make sure the snaps at the bottom are opened.

3rd Begin rolling at the snap end and continue until you reach the top.

The roses looked best when loosely rolled.

4th Twist stem wire around the rose to hold the shape and clip off the excess wire.

5th Floral picks worked perfectly at the stem. *We removed the pre-attached wire before putting the onesie on the stick*

Once all the flowers are rolled line your basket with floral foam and inserted the baby item flowers first. Then, fill the arrangement in with a mix of artificial flowers and greenery.  I tied a ribbon around the basket and added the wooden sign to the front to finish it off.

  1. I have to say I like this one better than the diaper cakes. After changing so many dirty bottoms l like to keep food, or the thought of food, away from diapers.
Can't wait to see the rest!
