This weekend I packed away all the shamrocks and green, and now our entertainment cabinet is looking so sad. :O( That means I'm in the market for new Easter decorations. I don't want to spend a lot of money on all these decorations. So I'm thinking I'd like to find some great Subway Art to put in my 11x14 frame, and I'm determined to make something awesome with my Silhouette.
This morning, as I brainstormed ideas for decorations, Owen spent about 5 minutes opening and closing the doors to the cabinet.
Then, with our shopping list in hand, Owen and I hopped into the Orange SUV, our new ride. {We switched cars with Brendon because we just need more space} We were off to The Lobby.
Owen was so happy to ride in the shopping cart and chew on the ribbon roll. It was a very successful trip. Here's what I bought for $20...a cardboard bunny face, two wooden eggs, three sheets of Easter scrapbook paper, some crazy looking plastic grass, two rolls of ribbon, a very glittery decorative egg, and a scrapbook frame.
These beautiful supplies almost didn't make it home. Remember how I said that Brendon and I switched cars? Well, his SUV apparently does want to work for me. After our very successful shopping trip, Owen was ready for a nap. I walked to the car, put Owen in his seat, and put the key in the ignition. But, the key wouldn't turn. It wasn't like the battery had died. It wasn't like the car wasn't able to start. The key just wouldn't turn! I read the owners manual, but found nothing helpful. Next, I called Brendon for advice. But, he didn't have any. Owen was starting to cry--- his nap time was calling! The pressure was on---the car HAD to start!
In an act of desperation, I turned to Google. Thank the Lord above for my iphone because without it, I would have been sitting in the parking lot, with a crying baby, waiting for Brendon to rescue us.
Apparently the steering wheel was locked, some anti-theft device had been activated, and the car thought I was trying to steal it. I gave the steering wheel a mighty jerking and like magic the car started!
We made it home, Owen took his nap and I started working on my Silhouette project.
My Silhouette cut out the bunny and bow. I found a cute poem about eating a chocolate bunny and printed it on an 8x12 inch piece of scrapbook paper. Then, glued them together and put it all in the scrapbook frame. I love it!
I'm still in the market for some Easter decorating ideas--- so if you have any I'd love to hear them!
Looks good!! Yummy bunny! Our van does that too =)
ReplyDeleteI had that same issue once and my sister told me that trick with the stearing wheel. We went to the Lobby today too to get stuff for a spring wreath. I love your wall art :)
ReplyDeleteHad that happen to my Supra and had to track down someone who could wriggle the steering wheel free.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the grass, the eggs, the cardboard bunny head, and the ribbon!!!!!!??????
I imagine you could staple some ribbon the back of your easter eggs and hang them on that other framed thingy you featured last month.
OOOHHHHHH!!! Get a clear glass bowl (kinda spherical, like a fish bowl, or funky vase) lay all the grass in the bottom of it and then fill the bowl with brightly colored foil wrapped easter chocolates!!! Sorta like people filling jars with lemons, only now you've got choc-a-lot!
There! I decorated your place with all your "Lobby" finds from the day. Your welcome. ; )
Great mind think alike, Alicia! My plan was to use the easter egg cutouts, bunny, and ribbon for my frame for all seasons. I'm going to put the grass at the bottom of my huge vase and the glittery egg too. Now, I just need a couple more things to add to the mix.
ReplyDeleteYour baby is adorable! Great job on your new frame--I so wish we had Hobby Lobby stores where I live.

Cute! Here's a fun way to color eggs - and if you stay tuned, I will be sharing another way soon!

Brittany, that is adorable...despite the trouble you had getting home to create it. ;) I love the poem!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining my Crafty Cutter party. :) Have fun finding some crafty inspiration, and I hope you'll visit me at Serenity Now again soon. :) I have a new Silhouette project up today! :)
