Oh man... I'm wearing the same shirt that I wore last week. At least you all know that I've done all the laundry! On top of finishing the laundry, I've done 2 weeks worth of grocery shopping, cleaned the house, and everyone got a haircut this week. We are ready! Which, I'm sure, means Luke won't actually make his appearance until August! But, it can't hurt to be prepared.
After my Long Distance Baby Shower this weekend, I really do feel like we're prepared. On top of having the baby shower, I got to spend the weekend with Jessica and Susan! We all met at Barksdale Air Force Base and even though we've all left Louisiana and moved to new states, we still have so much fun when we are together. It was Susan's first time in Vegas so Brendon volunteered to be on kid duty several nights and nap times so that we could go shopping and exploring around town. It was such a fun weekend!
We went to the Strip for dinner and people watching. I got lots of looks and comments from strangers when they saw my huge belly. It was also the first time, while walking the strip, that people actually cleared the walkway for me.
Pregnant twins--- Without even planning, we keep finding ourselves wearing the same or similar outfits!
We played Casino Bingo for the first time! We may have been a little out of our league, playing 12 cards at once, { I was cross-eye by the end of the game} but it sure was fun!
We took Susan out to Chipotle for the 1st time EVER! I couldn't believe my ears when she said she'd never been. I should have taken a picture, but I was so excited for her that I forgot to capture the moment! haha
After lunch, we went to Babies R Us and this beautiful diaper bag started calling my name as soon as I walked in the door. I've been eyeing some backpack diaper bags, but didn't like the prices or the patterns. This one was perfect! I've already started stuffing it with baby items and I know it will soon be full of baby diapers, wipes, and pacifiers.
Susan also got to experience a flash flood while she was here. We heard a weather warning, but it seemed ridiculous that there could be a flood when the weather was absolutely beautiful outside. As it turns out there was a flash flood and the main road leading to our house was covered in water. It's full of ash, from a fire in the mountains, and smells awful.
Owen spent the weekend laying on the charm for Susan and Jessica. It was the first time he's ever turned down holding my hand and chosen someone else to cross the street with!
He's also become quite the Daddy's boy lately and jumps at the chance to visit "The Man Store" --- we were looking at PVC pipe and he found one that he decided was a perfect telescope. He carried it with us throughout the store and told us he was a pirate!
Brendon took a few pictures of my belly for the baby book. Now, we just need to pack a bag for the hospital!
